This course will utilize classroom training along with hands-on practical scenario learning methodology. The course will provide a detailed study and discussion of the 29 CFR 1910.120 HAZWOPER training requirements. Specific topics will include Review of facility Emergency Response Plan (EAP); review of Incident Command System (ICS) as it relates to site plan and interface with emergency responders; chemical awareness and toxicology; hazard recognition and controls; air monitoring; personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection. Included will be hands-on training of field survey equipment and air monitoring devices. The course concludes with a tabletop and functional exercise that will enhance and test the student’s decision-making skills and functional performance proficiency during hazmat response situations. Upon completion, students will receive a certificate. All materials are included. Minimum student contact hours: 40
