National Safety Council's Advanced Safety Certificate (ASC)
The ASC Certificate program was designed to maximize your effectiveness as a safety leader and help you establish best safety practices for your organization. Advanced courses focus on technical and management safety skills and best practices needed to advance your safety program. With each course, you’ll be moving further along the path toward greater accomplishment and professional recognition.
Complete the Principles of Occupational Safety & Health course and earn 5.2 additional CEUs by taking a mix of the following courses. All courses must be completed within a five-year period.
- Ergonomics: Managing for Results (0.65 CEUs) 1 day
- Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene (2.6 CEUs) 4 days
- Incident Investigation: Root Cause Analysis (0.65 CEUs) 1 day

The Whole Worker Health Certificate Program
The Whole Worker Health Certificate Program focuses on a hazard-free work environment and personal well-being guidance for all workers by bringing together interventions that collectively address worker safety, health, and well-being. It includes a safety and health management system approach with policies, programs, and practices that integrate protection from work-related safety and health hazards with the promotion of injury and illness–prevention efforts that advance worker well-being both on and off the job.
Upon completion of our Whole Worker Health courses, students earn the Whole Worker Health Certificate and a plaque issued by the Chesapeake Region Safety Council.

Mid Atlantic OTI Education Center Safety and Health Specialist Certificate Programs:
All courses must be completed within the past five years and presented by Mid Atlantic OTI Education Center or Chesapeake Region Safety Council. A maximum of two courses can be grandfathered from other OTI Education Centers or a National Safety Council Chapter. Final approval at the discretion of the MAOTIEC.
