This course is intended to provide entry level maritime workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities and how to recognize, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a job site. The training covers a variety of maritime safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter. Training is tailored to Shipyard Employment, Marine Terminals, or Longshoring. This course also provides an advantage to entry-level workers to help obtain employement. Additional training for job-specific hazards may be necessary per OSHA standards. Topics included in this course: Introduction to OSHA, Walking and Working Surfaces, PPE, Fall protection/scaffolding, Confined Spaces, LOTO, HAZCOM. 

Upon completion, students will receive a certificate and a plastic OSHA 10hr for maritime card. All materials are included. Minimum student contact hours: 10.
