Lockout/Tagout Awareness

This course covers the roles and responsibilities of employer/employees to develop and implement an energy control program (lockout/tag-out (LO/TO) program) for the protection of workers while performing servicing and maintenance activities on machinery and equipment. Students will learn key elements of the Lockout/Tagout regulation (29CFR 1910.147, Subpart J, types of hazardous energy, implementing control measures as they relate to the control of hazardous energy, roles of authorized, affected, and other employees. In addition, students will understand the importance of developing and implementing energy control programs including written isolation procedures and periodic inspection of energy control procedures.
