Basic Work Zone Safety Training (State Specific)

Federal regulations require that state and local governments train personnel in work zone traffic control relevant to the job decisions that each individual is required to make. This course is designed to provide individuals with the training needed to properly install work zones for performing daily maintenance or short-term operations. Topics covered will include the basics of work zone traffic control, work zone devices, and how to effectively install and maintain them. At the conclusion of this class, a short, open-book, written exam will be administered to all attendees. Each student who achieves a passing grade of 80% or higher will receive A VDOT-issued training card and a certificate. All materials are included. Minimum student contact hours: 8
