This course is designed for employers who are looking to have a “competent person” to determine the feasibility and safety of protection for employees erecting or dismantling supported scaffolds. Employers must protect employees from scaffold related hazards such as falls, falling objects structural instabilities, electrocution, or overloading. Attendees will understand the purpose of the scaffolding standard, be able to describe types of scaffolding, proper scaffolding and load capacities, know employers duties and responsibilities. This two-day course includes hands-on training of your specific type of scaffold and provides the knowledge to meet the OSHA training requirements of 29 CFR 1926 Subpart L for competent persons and meets the requirements of EM385-1-1, Section 22.B.02. Upon completion, students will receive a certificate. All materials are included. Minimum student contact hours: 13
