Industrial Hygiene Basics

Develop a basic understanding of industrial hygiene terminology and principles, as well as practical approaches for recognizing, evaluating and controlling common workplace industrial hygiene hazards. This course is designed for entry-level industrial hygiene technicians, safety professionals and anyone who has industrial hygiene responsibilities. This one day class meets an elective requirement of .65 CEUs toward the Advanced Safety Certificate.

Topics will include:

  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Toxicology
  • Recognition & Evaluation of chemical, physical, biological and ergonomics hazards
  • Hazard controls

Industrial Hygiene Basics is an Advanced Safety Certificate (ASC) elective course.

Course Includes: Student materials, lunch and refreshments for in-person training

Students attending our in-person Industrial Hygiene Basics class should bring a laptop or tablet to access the digital course book during the class. Please note that a printed (hard copy) version is not available at this time.
