This National Safety Council course provides targeted training for employees assuming van-driving responsibilities, emphasizing the differences between vans and passenger cars. Participants learn to safely operate larger, heavier vehicles with larger blind spots and longer stopping distances. The course covers van characteristics and inspections, scanning and maintaining a safe following distance, communicating with other drivers, reading traffic situations, and special considerations for transporting cargo and passengers. Additional topics include collision reporting procedures and real-world scenario analyses to help drivers apply their knowledge and stay safe on the road and on the job. Upon completion, students will receive a certificate. All materials are included. Minimum student contact hours: 4
