This training course will cover the requirements for the establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of a respiratory program. Students will have the ability to identify and describe the elements of the respiratory program, the proper selection, use, and inspection of the respiratory protection. Training Topics will include: Applicable Regulations and Standards, Respirators – Advantages and Disadvantages, Chemical Hazards, Types and Classifications of Respiratory Protection, Selection and Use of Particulate Respirators (NIOSH Guide). Review of the OSHA Standard (29 CFR 1901.134 – (Respiratory Protection) Permissible Practice, Definitions, Respiratory Protections Program, Selection of Respirators, Medical Evaluation, Fit Testing, Use of Respirators, Maintenance and Care of Respirators, Identification of Filters, Cartridges, and Canisters, Training Requirements, Programs, Recordkeeping.
